It Feels Good

It feels good to be painting again. I had a successful week after being absent from selling on eBay for awhile. I sold a few pieces, including the attached picture of this mixed-media painting/doll.

I have a few long-term customers that have touched base with me again. I love the feedback and encouragement I get from them. Thank you!

Treasure Seeker

Oh the excitement of finding "buried treasures"....by that I mean digging through junk and finding a gem!

Earlier this week, I found a huge bag of vintage rubber stamps. To top off my find, the bag was marked half off!

I'm thinking of doing some simple name cards (blank inside). Or a simple set of greeting cards. I just love the look of the classic type font on these rubber stamps.

I love the unknown history that comes with vintage/antique items. I find myself imagining what the item's life journey has been. I have this same love affair with old books, but that's a whole other obsession of mine.

The Gears Are Moving

Ahhhh, I'm feeling excited and inspired. I love this feeling...I wish I could bottle it and tap into on the days I'm not feeling motivated.

My studio space is clean. In an effort to hold myself accountable, I'm even posting the before and after pictures. It was a scary mess! Now I am enjoying the calm that a clean workspace can bring.

I've been making new jewelry with new copper tone pieces I recently purchased. I've been busy listing new pieces in my Etsy store.

My next goal is to complete a mini folk art painting to list on eBay. I did some preliminary sketches yesterday. I just put water in my brush bucket......my hands are about to get dirty.

Day 2

I managed to get a few hours of cleaning done in my studio yesterday amidst constant interruption from a three year old. Today I need to wrap it up. I have to admit that seeing some open space on my tables makes me feel good.

The earrings I posted yesterday are now available in my Etsy store (www.karishigeno.etsy.com). I love Fall colors and these pairs are fun and very affordable.

An Art Journal

Well, I'm venturing into new territory....an art blog. Be brave, I tell myself.

This morning I am attempting to reclaim my studio. To do this, I'll need to tackle the piles that seem to sprout up over night and keep growing the longer they sit.

Things were going smoothly. My creative juices were flowing. I had a successful weekend at a local wine and art festival in July. And, then, life hit me. Waves of guests (who we always love to have), school starting and a friend's wedding ... these were the things that "excused" me from staying organized and making new art.

Well, I'm refocused and feeling inspired!
